Famille Rose Porcelain Round Brush Holder with an Imperial Poem

In the Qianlong period, the writing utensils were not only practical, but also used as a kind of decoration. Therefore, the Qianlong brush holder with imperial poetry were all small in size, and the height was mostly about 10 centimeters. The body of this brush holder is cylindrical and deep, with a flat base. The body is supported on five short feet. The interior and base are enamelled in pale turquoise. The rim and feet are gilt. The outside of the brush holder is decorated with imperial poems, followed by two iron-red seals reading qianlong chenan (by the very brush of the Qianlong emperor) and weiyi jingwei(be precise, be undivided).
