Blue-and-White Porcelain Vase with Design of Ten Thousands Characters “Shou”

Kangxi Reign, Qing Dynasty Height: 76.7cm

The vase has a square rim, a short neck, a tray-shaped mouth, and plump shoulders. Its body becomes slender below the shoulders, but the overall shape is steady. It has a sand base with no glaze. It is heavly potted with bright tone of blue-and-white. Outside of the vase is decorated with ten thousands“Shou”. Each“Shou”is different in terms of their scripts. Some are seal scripts while others are variant scripts. Their layout is dense and not messy, which fully demonstrates the beauty of seal calligraphy. The vase is an extremely rare blue-and-white vessel during the Kangxi period.
