The authentic Zheng He’s manuscripts are extremely rare. A Buddhist Sutra in traditional Chinese regular script in Yongle reign drew a lot of attention when it first showed up at Sotheby’s auction in New York on March, 2015. Signed by Zheng He, the Buddhist Sutra was considered as an important Chinese art treasure. It was finally won by the Long Museum and sold at the price of $14 million, which broke the previous price records at any auction house.

Before the discovery of the Buddhist Sutra in traditional Chinese regular script, the only available relic was a transcribing version of the Lotus Sutra. The Buddhist Sutra in traditional Chinese regular script was in very good condition; it contained great historical and cultural value from the aspect of decorating style, writing typography and religious contents.
