Georg Jensen, a celebrated Danish silversmith, once said "silver is the best material we have. And silver has this wonderful shine like moonlight… a light taken straight from a Danish summer’s night. When covered by dew, silver can look like magical mist." Is it possible for silver to exude the same magical luster under hands unconditioned to this traditional craft?

On the occasion of the exhibition "Mexico’s Silver: History and Future," the Long Museum has invited two professors from the AIVI International Academy of Visual Arts to introduce a number of contemporary British silver designers and their works. Through discussing various utensils, accessories, and objects, let us unveil the world of contemporary silverware and revel in how the craft has evolved over its history.
