Sun Zixi(1929- )was born in Shandong. He entered China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1955, and taught there after graduation. He engages in art education and art creation in long-term basis.

The artist seleted the moment of people from all nationalities of China standing in front of Tian An Men waiting for the photographing, in a festival morning in the 1950s. This piece of work is a recreation during Cultural Revolution, the artist changed the letters in two banners on Tian An Men into traditional Chinese, in order to restore the feature of the time in the 1950s.
