The year of 2019 marks the 110th anniversary of Lu Yanshao’s birth. From October 23rd to December 23rd, 2019, Long Museum (West Bund) will present "MURU·WANQING: Special Exhibition Commemorating the 110th Anniversary of Lu Yanshao's Birth". This exhibition is sponsored by the People's Government of Jiading District, Shanghai, and jointly organized by Long Museum (West Bund), Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy, and Lu Yanshao Art Academy.

Lu Yanshao is a well-known master of calligraphy and painting in modern times. He is well-known for his landscape painting. He is also good at figures, flowers and birds paintings, and is proficient in calligraphy. In addition, Lu Yanshao taught at the Academy of Fine Arts twice and trained a large number of masters of calligraphy and painting for today's art world. For the Academy of Fine Arts, he especially established a traditional Chinese painting teaching system that has been influential to this day.

The Long Museum (West Bund) will exhibit nearly a hundred works of Lu Yanshao’s calligraphy and paintings. The exhibition will also introduce a model of "one exhibition, multiple locations". In addition to the comprehensive exhibition of Long Museum (West Bund), it will be held at Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy Art Museum (realistic themes and figure paintings) and Lu Yanshao Art Academy (comprehensive exhibition 2: Calligraphy album area) simultaneously. 

The two institutions will exhibit more than two hundred pieces (sets) of Lu Yanshao's comics, figure works, calligraphy and flower thematic works, including "Lu Yanshao's realistic themes and sketches of figure paintings", "Lu Yanshao Yandang Collection". "Yan Shao Calligraphy Complete Album (60 K)" will also be displayed in these two institutions for the first time.

In order to better promote the effectiveness of aesthetic education and excellent traditional culture, to increase influence and audience reach, on the opening ceremony of the exhibition on October 23, Lu Yanshao's art seminar and roundtable forum will be held at Long Museum (West Bund). During the exhibition period, academic and public education activities will be launched one after another, and the album "Lu Yanshao Special Exhibition" will be presented to the public at the same time.
