The cultural and historical materials on display cover all fields of modern Chinese medical and health care, which can be described as a panoramic narrative of modern medicine. Here are some examples of the materials on display: "Acne Induction Strategy" written by Pearson, the surgeon of the British Easy India company in the Jiaqing period; 1923 Tongde Medical College's pre-medical graduation certificate; a hundred years old "Chinese Dental Association Membership Certificate"; The American Hu Mei, who founded the Yali Hospital in Hunan, printed the "Diphtheria Advertisement" in response to the diphtheria epidemic in Changsha; during the most difficult period of the Anti-Japanese War in 1942, the "National Register of Registered Physicians" printed by the National Government Department of Health…

In modern history, Shanghai has always been China's medical center, and its profound medical history has written legends in the changing times.

It is understood that there are at least 12 hospitals with a history of more than 100 years in Shanghai, ranking first among major cities in the country; the first medical school founded by the Chinese was born in Shanghai; and the first large-scale comprehensive hospital established and managed by the Chinese - Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University; the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Red Cross were established in Shanghai; China’s earliest cancer hospital and China’s first specialist hospital were established in Shanghai; China’s first Chinese medicine newspaper, China’s first comprehensive Sexual medicine dictionary, published in Shanghai... The "source position" of Shanghai medicine is clearly visible.

In the more than a hundred years after the Opium War, the Chinese medical landscape has undergone major changes, with progress and exploration. In the development and collision of modern medicine, many outstanding medical humanistic thoughts and concepts have also been formed. In-depth understanding and research of modern Chinese medicine are conducive to building self-confidence in medical culture.

At the same time, in the face of people's livelihood issues such as charity, medical care, and public health, the predecessors have done a lot of exploration, and the experience and lessons summarized by the predecessors can be described as useful reference for the present. By exploring and studying the medical culture and human history of the predecessors, people will be able to gain more basic, deeper, and more lasting power.
