For the Children
On the occasion of the National Children’s Day of 2020, Long Museum (West Bund) launched a special exhibition ‘For the Children’. The exhibition showed a batch of works provided by Long Museum together with works from artists invited Yu Ji (b.1985) and ZUZHI(founded by artists Jun-Y Ciao, Tao Yi, Xu Zhe and Li Mu in 2009) with the aim of imparting vitality to children’s art activities and deepen their appreciation of art.
In people's hearts, the image of children is always linked to unsophistication and kindness. They are youthful and exuding the vitality of life, and at the same time, they are weak and sensitive, and need attention and care. As one the most enduring themes, artists at all times and all over the world are fond of depicting children, some of them choose the perspective of children to create colorful, interesting and innocent works.
In addition, this exhibition displayed a batch of works associated with children's books, showing different aspects of modern and contemporary art. Meanwhile, this limited exhibition served as a learning inspiration for children with the expectation of gaining more outside it.
