Artist: Song Huizong
Ink on paper, 27.5x525(cm), Northern Song Dynasty

Sketches of Rare Birds is a unanimously acknowledged authentic work by Emperor Huizong of The Song Dynasty (1082-1135). It is a rare treasure in the long scroll paintings of The Song Dynasty. This work has been handed down for nearly one thousand years but can still be clearly traced, as it was widely recorded in the fine art literature of successive dynasties.
